TIME FOR SPRING CLEANING

Spring is a great time to clean your home from top to bottom and get rid of the old stuff you no longer need.

Here are 5 easy tips to follows to help in that process:

  1. Make a plan and list of goals. It can be easy to get off track when you start cleaning. Write down a list of rooms you want to address and what you want to clean or declutter before you start. Consider setting a schedule so you can set aside time for each goal.
  2. Gather your supplies. Keep your tools and cleaning products organized and accessible. Put them in a caddy to keep them on hand. Be sure to read product directions and follow safety warnings.
  3. Clean efficiently. Plan your order of cleaning steps. It’s best practice to vacuum or sweep before you mop. Find what works best for you. Do you want to focus on one room at a time? Depending on the task you might find one way most efficient.
  4. Consider selling or donating clutter. You may discover a lot of forgotten items while you are cleaning. Make a bin of things you no longer want to keep. You could consider selling these items, giving them to loved ones, or donating them.   
  5. Make it fun! Who said cleaning has to be boring? Listen to music, audiobooks, or podcasts. Recruit friends or family to help out with tasks. Take before and after pictures to share your progress and completed goals.
